Now that spring is just around the corner (thank God), I'm back at it again with a little bit of good, old fashioned window shopping... Except it's on the internet, so it's not old fashioned. Anyway, one of my favorite sites to do this is, of course, ModCloth. They have the best spring things for all your spring needs! ...Or at least, mine.

I am soooo in love with florals, bright colors, and animal prints (the actual animal, not fur patterns). My closet is packed full of it! Seriously, If I could wear all three trends at once and still be accepted by my peers, I probably would.

What are some of your favorite spring trends?

Our Marriage Smash Book

I've been wanting to put our wedding/new beginnings smash book together for a long time, but I just never really got around to it until now. Honestly, I don't know why I put it off because it's sooo much fun to make! I love being able to put all the magazine/newspaper clippings, photos, vow letters, and advice cards all in one place... instead of being scattered around the house. I'm far from being finished with this little project, but that's the beauty of this little binder... I can add new pages to it as our life goes on!

You can get this cute binder here and the wedding scrapping paper here!
We were given LOTS of advice. Mostly silly, but things we still take to heart.
Yes, we met on Facebook. Even though we already knew of each other and had tons of mutual friends,  our paths never really crossed. We wrote each other personal vows and each read them while we got ready, but we did not recite them out loud. I thought it would be more special to keep these special promises between the two of us.
Have you ever created a smash book? What was the theme of it?

11 Things

I received a couple requests from my recent blogger survey to share a little bit more about myself, so when I ran across "11 Things" on So, You Guys..., I thought, what better way to share things about me than to answer some of her random, fun questions!

1. If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Either a really cute, flattering dress with wedge heels ...or a long v-neck t-shirt with leggings and Toms or 'tonks (because of the AMAZING comfort).

2. What decade were you supposed to be born in?
Probably the '30s, so I would be old enough to fit into the dresses of the '40s and have perfectly sculpted hairstyles.

3. What is your favorite kind of cake?
I don't really like cake. I know, I'm crazy! I've never had a sweet tooth. Walking into bakeries and cupcake shops and smelling all the sweets actually makes me a little nauseous. Haha.

4. What season is your favorite?
My favorite season is summer. I would much rather sweat than shiver! I pretty much just hibernate during the cold seasons and only go outside when absolutely necessary.

5. What age has been your favorite?
My favorite age was 23. Cody popped the question that summer, we got married three months later, and started a new chapter...or book, rather, of our lives.

6. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Anywhere tropical. Again, I reeeeally hate being cold!

7. What was your first car?
When I was 16, I got a small inheritance from a great aunt who I never met, and bought a forest green '96 Dodge Neon. I got it for about $1200 and it lasted six months.

8. What makes you laugh the hardest?
Cute animals doing hilarious things! I can't get enough of it.

9. Do you prefer brand new or vintage?
I like (brand new) vintage-inspired clothing. Though, I appreciate real vintage pieces, I feel like that clothing is too costume-y for today...or it would look that way on me. Aside from that, I love going to estate sales and getting vintage linens and decorations!

10. What are you saving up for right now?
Really, just the normal adult stuff; house renovations, emergencies, future.... Oh, and fun stuff like a car and more tattoos!

11. What's your favorite color?
Teal and grey!

I'd LOVE to learn more about you, my lovely readers, so I'm continuing the fun with 11 questions of my own! If you answer my questions, please put the link to your blog post in my comments! Here are my questions for you.....

1. What is your all time favorite movie?
2. Who is your biggest fashion inspiration?
3. What do you think your spirit animal would be?
4. What is your favorite holiday?
5. What kind of music do you like to listen to?
6. What are some of your biggest pet peeves?
7. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
8. If you could bring anyone in the history of ever back from the dead, who would it be?
9. What is the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
10. What is your favorite hobby?
11. What three words would best describe you?

Cody Covers

After a wayyy too long (9-ish months) hiatus from music, Cody decided to grace our ears with his angelic voice once again! Last night, we recorded videos of him covering a couple of his favorite songs. Here is one of them...

(The other one is still being edited and will be shared soon... I can't wait!)

I Brought a Knife to a Gun Fight...

Last night, I suited up for battle. With my lifelong fandom (thanks to my dad and brother), I fully expected the Broncos to destroy the Seahawks in this year's Super Bowl. To my surprise and horror, that didn't happen. At all. Not even close.

These two photos pretty much sum up last night. I was pretty much the ONLY Broncos fan in a party full of Seahawks fans.... Even my own husband was against me!! I was on my own to defend the only sports team I've ever really cared about.

The party was great though! Despite the agonizing loss I suffered, I had so much fun screaming, joking, and mocking all the Seahawks fan in the house. The food that Amanda and others prepared was fantastic!

Oh well, that's all right. We just felt bad and let the Seahawks win their FIRST Super Bowl. ;)

Did you watch the Super Bowl? If you did, which team did you pull for?

Sunday Style

Yesterday, Cody and I went to visit my family again for my grandpa's birthday. It was surprisingly a really nice day outside! I had Cody snap a few pictures because I actually got to wear a cute dress without having to cover it up with coats and scarves and layers and  more coats....

Anyway, back to my grandpa and his birthday... He's 83 years young now, and when I say "young" I really mean it! Seriously, he's probably healthier and more active than me, which is kind of sad. You can see him playing soccer here with my little nephew. Aside from being physically healthy, his brain is still a wealth of knowledge too! He used to be an aeronautical engineer for NASA and hasn't forgotten anything from back then. Every time we visit, he ends up sharing stories with us about his rocket days. He informed me yesterday, that he's nearly finished writing a 40 chapter educational textbook about rocket stuff. Pretty awesome! The other day, I got curious and Googled his name (Frank Jordan). After a little bit of searching, I found an interview he had in an article of the NY Times back in 1993. Here is that article.... NY Times.

You may not think any of that is very interesting, but I think it's quite fascinating. It's safe to say, I'm pretty proud of that old man.
